Access to the work site from below is often problematic and the choice of anchor points
and the setting up of the rope are important stages.
Access from below is sometimes possible by
throwing a rope, or by using a crossbow. Access may also be gained by using a helicopter, but this
solution is very expensive.
When a lead climber moves up a structure, the risk of fall is present.
This can
be one of two orders of risk: a fall to the ground, or a fall ending suspended in the harness. Once the rope
